FFP2 face masks are proven to protect against the COVID-19 virus and have been approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as PPE for use in close contact situations with potential, or confirmed, cases of coronavirus. Andersen Caledonia provides high-quality FFP2 masks which feature 5 layered filtration and breathable fabric.
However, wearing face masks and sore throat link has been uncovered. new masks are unlikely to be contaminated with coronavirus but can contain other bacteria, fungi and yeasts. When facepieces are used for long periods of time then there have been frequent reports of sore throats. The sore throat could be related to the microfibres released from the mask, contamination of the mask during use and contamination of the mask prior to use.
To combat face masks and sore throat link, we offer the option of sterile packing the FFP2 masks which are carried out at our committed Bellshill centre in our ISO 5 cleanroom and on-site Ethylene Oxide (EtO) Sterilisation chambers. By sterilising the FFP2 face masks via EtO and supplying high-quality masks, manufactured in Europe, we reduce the impact of fibres and eliminate any contamination prior to use.
